The Cox Scholarship Fund was founded in 1986 as the brainchild of Richard Thorpe, Cox Sales Manager, in honor of Bill Cox, Sr. and Ed Cox. A total of $425,000 has been given to the recipients of Cox Scholarships. Since inception the Fund has helped 120 students. Originally, the highest scholarship awarded was $800; this amount has grown to $4,500 in 2008.

- 86 Employees contributes $15,441.25 to the fund.
- Scholarships were awarded to 14 students.
- Five Memorial gifts were received for the following individuals:

Scholarship Eligibility:
Any child of a Cox employee under 25 years of age is eligible as long as they are enrolled full-time at a 2 to 4 year college or university. All scholarship recipients must maintain at least a 2.0 Grade Point Average.
