Tom White Joins Cox Industries

Cox Industries is pleased to announce Tom White is now a part of the Cox family of employees. Tom was formerly with New South Wood Preserving and has joined Cox Industries to assist the sales force, in multiple territories, due to a rapidly expanding customer base. Tom brings with him the same commitment to service Cox customers demand and his alignment with the company’s core values make him a welcome addition to our outside sales team. 2009 Kentucky Ice Storm
The January 27, 2009 ice storm is now being billed “the biggest natural disaster Kentucky has ever seen in modern history”. An estimated 700,000 people were left without power as utility and communications services into the affected areas were devastated. Southwest Kentucky was hardest hit, particularly the territories of Hickman Fulton Electric Membership Cooperative (EMC) and Jackson Purchase Energy Corporation. As utility crews worked around the clock - battling subzero conditions - the challenge was not just repairing downed lines, but instead rebuilding a ravaged utility infrastructure from the ground up. |

Cox Cares: Cox Scholarship Fund
The Cox Scholarship Fund was founded in 1986 as the brainchild of Richard Thorpe, Cox Sales Manager, in honor of Bill Cox, Sr. and Ed Cox. A total of $425,000 has been given to the recipients of Cox Scholarships. Since inception the Fund has helped 120 students. Originally, the highest scholarship awarded was $800; this amount has grown to $4,500 in 2008.  |

According to the National Association of Home Builders, production of single-family homes rose for a second consecutive month in April, posting a 2.8% gain to 368,000.
