Cox Introduces New Product - FLAMEDXX Fire Retardant OSB
Cox Industries, Inc. is excited to bring another new product to the market. Partnering with Arch Wood Protection, Cox is now a distributor of FLAMEDXX Fire Retardant OSB.
FLAMEDXX OSB is oriented strand board coated with a fire retardant in a proprietary process. The resulting panels qualify for a Class A fire retardant material rating (specifically, it's Flame Spread Index = 10 and Smoke Developed Index = 20). In the extended 30-minute test, which is not conducted on most coated products, there is no evidence of progressive combustion.

Cox Receives FSC & SFI Certifications
Cox Industries' Residential Products Division recently received certifications through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).
"As part of Cox's continued journey towards sustainability, these certifications dove-tail with our company's concerns for the environment, for society and for financial stability", said Michael Johnson, CEO.

Cox Supports Wood Construction in Schools
Cox Industries, Inc. has been supporting changes in SC Legislation regarding the use of wood in the construction of primary and secondary schools. Through working closely with industry organizations such as the Wood Products Council, WoodWorks and the American Plywood Association, Cox Industries was recently called upon to deliver information on wood treatments including fire retardant products, in preparation for the South Carolina Public School Facilities Committee meeting.

Cox Cares: Cox Breaks Ground on Third Habitat Project
For the third consecutive year, Cox Industries is sponsoring an Edisto Habitat for Humanity house for a deserving family in Orangeburg, South Carolina. This year, Cox welcomes two co-sponsors to the project; AMCO Construction and Home Builders Supply, both are local, family-owned businesses with strong ties to the building community. Together, we will sponsor the entire cost of the project and provide all of the volunteer labor.
