Treated Block/Breakaway Posts for Guardrail

Treated Blocks / Guard Rails Etc...
We offer a wide range of products that may be applied to various highway related projects. Treated timber piling is used in some secondary road bridges, as are large stringers and timber decking. In addition, we supply guardrail posts, and spacer blocks, used to provide a cushion/space between the guardrail and the guardrail post. In some of the metropolitan areas of the country we supply various sound wall components that assist in shielding residential areas from the noise of major highways. Treated wood used in highway applications can range in size from a 6"x 6"- 12" block to a Class B 50' or longer piling, and may be treated for land and fresh water applications or treated with heavy retention CCA for saltwater contact. Grades and sizes of lumber and timber will also vary as to application. In certain circumstances we might need to supply something as large as a 16" x 24" timber cap in lengths up to 26'. If necessary we can also frame the timbers to match existing structures so that the contractor can eliminate the time and expense required do that in the field.

Wolmanized wood provides benefits - such as widespread availability, easy handling and modification, long life, and low cost - in a variety of highway applications. Treating requirements appear in AWPA Standard C14. Among the typical uses are:

Guardrails, posts, and spacer blocks
Though strong, wood is also resilient. It absorbs impacts better than most building materials. Moreover, repairs and replacements are usually simple to make.

Signposts
For availability, ease of on-site modifications, and economical cost, Wolmanized wood is an excellent choice. Breakaway characteristics are readily created.

Timber Bridges
In vehicular, pedestrian, and golf course bridges, Wolmanized wood offers rugged, long-lasting performance.

Retaining walls
Timber retaining walls, in solid and crib designs, can prevent erosion while maintaining an attractive, natural appearance.
